The main objective of this class was to make prints. We did this by making a collage and then drew on it.
I was feeling a mix of emotions. There was an overwhelming feeling of anxiousness and excitement as this was the first assignment we had to do in class. Not only this but also I felt an obligation to myself to perform well, and that was my weakness. Since I expected so much from my self I got nervous and did not do my best work. My other weakness was the illustration. I would say watercolour is not a medium I am not too comfortable with and hence working with it was tough. Moreover, I did not bring my scissors so I was held back. My strength on the other hand was using the different apps we were given to work with. I definitely felt most at ease while working on that. I enjoyed exploring the new Kalidacam app and seeing how my quick 5 min collage turned into something so geometric.
To be better next time I would make sure I had all my art equipment with me so I would never be left behind. I will also make sure to practice my weak points in art so I can feel more confident working in class. I would definitely like to do the collages again and develop prints, that seems very interesting to me.
It was lovely to make friends, it made the project more fun. It is always lovely to be around my fellow coursemates as you see and hear so many new perspectives on fashion!.
